Vytautas Niedvaras is a London-based creative technologist and new media artist with a focus on participatory digital platform design. Co-founder of Icarus Blue, a digital platform launched during the pandemic that connected and showcased the works of over 60 visual artists and 90 musicians, fostering remote multimedia collaboration in a digital space. Co-founder of Distance Anatomy, a project facilitating real-time transatlantic collaboration between musicians and dancers. The platform utilises low-latency, high-fidelity audio and motion capture data transmission technology, enabling live collaboration to take place.
Drawing on eight years of immersive industry experience, he leads UCL MAL's mission to explore how emerging technologies such as XR, IoT, Digital Twins and AI can help reshape research practice and address the challenges of our times.
