Rae is an anthropologist and PhD candidate at Binghamton University (SUNY) in New York. Their current work focuses on the affective labor of Facebook content moderators and the sociopolitical landscape cultivated by moderation practices and policies in an era of radical right-wing resurgence. In the future, Rae hopes to do more research on how digital laborers who train AI to identify hate speech affect - and are affected by - machine learning processes.
