PENELOPE WATSON

Penelope Watson is a British and Greek-American artist, researcher, and postgraduate student based in London. Owing to her work in museums and art market provenance research, Watson’s interests lie at the intersection of art, anthropology, and law. Watson’s recent research centres around the politics of cultural heritage and investigates the appropriation and destruction of heritage sites and cultural objects. As a researcher at UCL MAL, Watson has helped develop the artistic use of AI and ML technology for the conference and exhibition Multimedia Encounters, and assists in the ongoing partnership with the Kuñangue Aty Guasu.
