IGNACIO GUTIÉRREZ CROCCO
CIGIDEN - Research Center for integrated Disaster Risk Management
Ignacio Gutiérrez Crocco is a Chilean social researcher and designer based in Santiago, Chile. His research interests focus on the intersection between mind, culture and environmental disruptive phenomena, specializing in disaster studies. He collaborates with the Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management (CIGIDEN). Gutiérrez is also the director of “Vieja Acherontia” - an artistic initiative centred on the production of immersive installations to explore human-environmental relations. Combining both interests, Gutiérrez has turned to the ontological inquiries in disaster studies and the potentiality of immersive art to explore the ontological disagreements emphasized by this approach.
